Like spring cleaning, we need a summer cleaning, a routine to get ready for summer. Summer time is packed with heat, sun, humidity all which will affect our hair, skin and body. Usually with constant sweating and heat, more breakouts can occur. Sweat and dirt can clog pores, which will hinder your chances of glowy, clear summer skin. I’m incorporating these small daily rituals to detox my skin and body for summer.
Here’s what I’m doing to detox and get ready for summer:
- More sweat sessions: Workouts that really get the heart pumping and sweating help release toxins. More high intensity training to really sweat.
- Sauna: Adding sauna sessions is another great way to release toxins. Karrueche and other celebrities have discussed how they love including sauna sessions into her routine. Using a sauna helps with weight loss, circulation, flush toxins from the body like heavy metals.
- Up the water intake: Increasing my water intake right before summer, will help hydrate my skin and body while helping me detoxify much faster.
- Detox supplement: Taking supplements like Chlorella, a single-celled, green freshwater algae. “Chlorella may help the body detox by binding to heavy metals and other toxins.” These supplements help detox the body.
- Regular facials: Regular facials keep skin clean and help open pores and clear any blackheads. Different facial techniques can help get rid of dead skin and improve its texture.
- Exfoliating 2x per week: Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin so skin appears more even-toned and makeup slides on better. This also helps on hot Summer days where a bare face will be better than makeup.
