I’ve been thinking a lot about the new year. This year has been filled with amazing opportunities for learning and evolving. I did so much this past year, I decided is time to start planting seeds for whats to come. But, before any of us can hit the reset button, we must close this chapter correctly.
Here are the things I’m planning on doing, to reset my body, mind and surroundings for the new year.
Clearing out space….
Clearing out space is one of the best things to do before the new year. This can be cleaning your closet and throwing away things you no longer use or no longer serve you.
A deep cleaning of your home can reset your mood and keep you organized. It can help you think clearer and feel more comfortable in your own space. Change things around your office or home and let new ideas flow through.
Getting Physical…
Getting physical is ideal for ending the year right. Don’t wait until the new year to get in some sweat sessions. Working out is an investment in yourself, your health and your body. Working out puts you in a good mood, releases stress and helps your body and skin get rid of toxins. Who doesn’t want to start the year with glowing skin?
Mastering something new…
Investing in yourself is always important. Learn something new, a new skill, a language, or try an activity. Is important to keep your mind working, and excited about every day life. Successful people make the commitment to dedicate their spare time in the pursuit of learning. It will keep you thriving and feeling confident for new challenges ahead of you.
Taking a self care day…
Taking care of stress should be a top priority before the year ends. Stress can have physical effects on the body, on going stress can cause things like anxiety to depression to even bigger health and skin problems.
Take a self care day, relax at home with your favorite ritual, like lighting candles, running a bubble bath, doing a face mask or reading a book and shutting off your phone for the day. These activities relax you and allow you to clear your head for better thinking and clarity.
“Relaxation can help reduce the stress hormone known as cortisol,” says fitness expert Matt Weik, owner of Weik Fitness in Wernersville, Pennsylvania. “The job of cortisol is to help your body deal with various stressful situations. When cortisol levels remain elevated for a long period of time, it can cause high blood pressure. High levels of cortisol can disrupt sleep cycles, create negative mood patterns, zap your energy, and even cause you to store body fat. When you relax and cortisol levels have a chance to normalize, you have a better chance to minimize the negative effects and improve your overall health and well-being.”

Deciding what you want out of the new year…
Decide what you want this new year, and prepare yourself to receive it. Allow yourself to be ready to receive the best of what the universe wants to give you.
Create a vision board you can access daily, keep those goals near you, in the form of affirmations, or in your iphone’s to do list. Sometimes we forget how far we’ve come, thats why looking at our progress is important.
