If you’re prone to breakouts is important to keep an eye on your skin and make sure you’re avoiding anything that triggers it. I manage to avoid breakouts but from time to time I’ll get a couple of pimples and try to pinpoint the reason. Diet changes or specific times during the month can trigger them, but there are other things that can be done in order avoid a breakout.
Washing pillow cases
Pillocases can harness dirt that can clog pores. From hair to skin product residue, your pillow cases can get dirty. Washing your sheets can help you avoid passing dirt and irritating your skin.
Using the right products for your skin type
Using products that irritate your skin can lead to breakouts. Do patch test before trying any product and if you have oily skin avoid products that clog pores or increase oilyness.
Watching the hair products you use
Hair products can sometimes irritate the area around the forehead if not removed correctly. If you’re prone to breakouts clean your hair line with a clean towel and water after washing your hair or applying any deep conditioners.
Never sleeping with makeup on + using a toner
Sleeping with makeup can clog pores and age you faster, it can also cause breakouts. Never sleep with makeup on. Also use a toner to remove any dirt and impurities left behind after using a face wash.
Washing your face 2x a day
If you’re prone to acne or have oily skin, washing your face at night and in the morning is crutual. At night to remove any dirt and makeup from the day and in the morning to remove any dirt from sleeping and to work with a clean face.
Using an exfoliant
Exfoliating the skin will remove any dead skin cells and keep your pores clean. Exfoliate 2x per week to reveal new skin and avoid clogged pores.
Using a pore cleansing mask
A deep pore cleansing mask can help detox the skin and remove any pore clogging dirt. Use it one time per week for a deeper cleaning.
