I’ve discovered another way to skip salon visits for a while. If you’re a fan of acrylic nails, or just enjoy how long your polish lasts with fake tips here’s another DIY for home. These tips will save you time on salon visits as well as money on refills.
In order to get the right acrylic nails done at home, you need the correct tools. This is everything from the powder, monomer, brush and more. The best way to get all these ingredients, without fully committing to buying full size, is to buy a kit. An acrylic nails at home kit, bring all the tools to easily try doing your nails at home without investing tons of money. If you find out this is something you don’t like doing, at least you didn’t waste a ton of money on products.
Acrylic Nails At Home Kit
This kit brings everything you need to get started. Enough product for one full or and/or two refills. The first time I used it, I went to the nail salon got a full set of acrylic nails, then two weeks later, used the kit to give myself a refill. This kit worked perfectly, and after the second time I used it my nails looked almost professionally done.
Pros of Kit:
- Perfect for beginners
- Inexpensive only $17.50 (as of 2020 kit is $23)
- Brings everything you need, fake nails, primer, brush, powder, liquid and more
- Easy to use
Cons of Kit:
- Small amount of product, specially of the monomer
- Brush is low quality, will need to invest in a better brush
- Not many extra fake nails
Overall this is the best way to get started with at home acrylic nails. After watching one or two youtube videos, I jumped right in and did my own refill. In order to properly file the nails you need to invest in a drill, a drill makes a difference when filling down the nails and removing older or excess dried powder. The best drill and the one I purchased is the “Electric Nail Drill Set, Ophanie 11 in 1” which appears to be sold out, but the Electric Nail Drill Set by MelodySusie seems pretty similar to it.
