As we grow up, most of us transition from student life to work life. In that process, we usually lose focus of some of our goals. Those goals we set years ago, that kept life exciting and kept us hungry for more.
Day-to-day life distractions can throw off our momentum, making us frustrated when we stop making progress.
One way to make it easier on ourselves to stay on track, is to organize our life and plan our goals daily. A planner has given me the power to achieve many of my goals and celebrate the small achievements overtime.
// Using A Planner To Stay Organized & Set Goals //
// Use a planner to break down large goals into smaller, more attainable ones //
When you envision your long term goals, they may seem unattainable or far into the future. It is important to realize that even though those goals are in a distance, small actions must be taken day in and day out in order to achieve them.
If your goal is to buy a home or create a second source of income, use a planner to write that goal down then work backwards, by creating a plan of actions.
Start by working backwards with daily actionable to do’s. Whether is working on fixing your credit, paying off debt, these daily actions slowly get you to the bigger goal of buying a home.
// Keeps goals in front of you //
Seeing your goals daily keeps you on track and focused on the long term results. Use your planner to write down 2-3 long term and short them goals.
Look at those daily, image them as if you have already accomplished them. You’ll be on track, and also reminded everyday of why you’re doing what you’re doing.
// Writing things down increases your odds //
Writing goals down increases the odds of achieving them.
According to a study done by Gail Matthews at Dominican University, those who wrote down their goals accomplished significantly more than those who did not write down their goals.

Writing down your goals gives you purpose, it creates a vision for your life. These small achievements make you more confident, and empowered.
When you don’t have a plan, you don’t know how you will reach your destination. Write down clear goals, and how you will achieve them.
// Accelerate results by prioritizing your time and tasks //
Using a planner helps you better manage your time. With all the daily distractions, our time can be easily wasted on social media or scrolling through the internet.
Overtime these hours could be allocated to more important things in your life. Things that will elevate you and make you more successful.
Scheduling tasks by the hour forces you take control. It keeps you productive and achieving what you’re meant to do.
// See past wins //
Those goals you previously wrote down and checked off, will still remain in your planner. Anytime you feel lost or as if you’re not making any progress, look back and see how far you’ve come.
We sometimes forget how far we’ve come, so reach back to old pages and see how you many great things you’ve already accomplished.
// Live life on purpose //
A planner allows you to take control of your life and put yourself first.
Create a vision of what you want, turn that into a list of goals you can measure.
Set deadlines and celebrate your achievements along the way.
Life is about celebrating your small wins, because no one really sees all the effort you’ve put into them. The journey and growth along the way is your best reward.
